The Orphan Works bill that is before Congress is a death blow to all artists! It will make it unprofitable and unrealistic to produce any form of art. As an artist I know it is difficult to make ends meet anyway, but with this new law it will be unrealistic to register all art, sketches, photos, and music I create. Even if I somehow manage to scrape up the money to register my work if I don’t register it with all the register companies or if I don’t catch someone within a limited time frame I will LOOSE ALL RIGHTS TO MY WORK! No other country in the world does this because it is criminal! If I pay for the supplies to build a car and put all the man hours in to build it I should own the car. My neighbor shouldn’t be able to walk over and drive off with is just because he felt like it. Big business wants this to pass because they want our art for free. The expression of starving artist was coined because it often times is true! The government has stepped in to protect movie producers in the past so why should they now attack every other type of art that is produced in America? I would like you to step in and stop this before a major part of our culture is strangled to death by this new law. Write your Congressmen and stop this before it's too late. Thank you for your time.
